Sean and Adrienne – Hockley Valley Resort Winter Wedding

When I posted Sean and Adrienne’s engagement photos I promised to share more about them when I posted their wedding.  So I’ve been reflecting the last couple of days about what I could say that would sum them up, and I’m finding it kinda hard.  I learned a lot about them on their wedding day – their easy-going, adventurous spirits came out as we trekked and laughed our way through woods and deep snow to find the most beautiful and unsuspecting places to take their portraits.  During their reception I was struck by how deeply grounded they are, and how much giving to family, friends and each other is what grounds them.  Adrienne’s beautiful sister Lauren got choked up during her maid of honour toast and I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house when Adrienne simply stood up from her seat, walked up to the podium, gave Lauren a hug and stood by her for the remainder of her speech.  Sean and Adrienne also opted to keep their first look private.  Sean walked into the room, closed the door behind him and spent 5 minutes admiring his wife alone.  Little moments like these happened all day long and are a testament to how genuine they are.

An outdoor winter wedding is a bold choice!  Scroll down to find out how beautiful it turned out.  I will close with a few shout outs.  Thanks to Sean and Adrienne for allowing me to be a part of your day…I honestly had so much fun despite how soggy my socks got. (Thankfully there were socks available to purchase in the ski shop!).  Sam Gooderham of Picturesque Events did an outstanding job of wedding day coordination and design (Check out their reception decor – stunning!).  And thanks to my fab 2nd shooter Karyn for joining the party and providing a few of the images below.  Hugs to all!
